Toko Nagata is a versatile music supervisor with a background as a classically trained violist. She combines her musical pedigree with extensive experience in licensing and clearance to be an invaluable resource to filmmakers. Whether it’s following her passion for telling stories about the Asian American experience with series like Awkwafina is Nora from Queens and films like Always Be My Maybe, or setting the era for the period comedy Young Rock, or even playing against expectation for horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass, Toko always delivers stellar soundtracks. Prior to her career as an independent music supervisor, she cut her teeth at Format Entertainment (as coordinator on A Star is Born and Dolemite Is My Name), and with Christine Bergren Music Consulting handling license agreements for films like Sausage Party, Divergent and Point Break.
