'Beauty and the Beast' and 'This Is Us' are among those up for the awards, which will be handed out Feb. 8 in Los Angeles.
The Guild of Music Supervisors on Thursday unveiled the list of nominees for its eighth annual awards.
The awards will recognize outstanding music supervisors in 17 categories representing film, television, trailers, TV promos, advertising and video games.
This year's film nominees include Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Greatest Showman, Pitch Perfect 3, Lady Bird, and Call Me by Your Name. The TV nominees include 13 Reasons Why, Big Little Lies, Girls, This Is Us, Master of None and Nashville. Film trailer nominations include Baby Driver, I, Tonya, Alien: Covenant, and Black Panther.
In addition to the awards, the event also will feature live music performances, including this year's featured GMS Spotlight Artist Yungblud, a Geffen recording artist from Northern England known for his dynamic high-energy performances.
Additionally, Becky Mancuso-Winding has been tapped to receive the guild's Legacy Award. Her credits range from Urban Cowboy — her first film — to Parenthood to Backdraft to Footloose.
The ceremony is set for Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
"From music-intensive tentpole sequels and technically complicated musicals to elegantly navigated character dramas, the guild has highlighted the best music supervision in film this past year,” said Thomas Golubić, president of the Guild of Music Supervisors. "Our television nominees represent some of the most exciting music supervision work in this groundbreaking year of the art form. We are incredibly proud of the stellar creative achievements of music supervisors in this rich year of music in media. Our Feb. 8 awards will be a festive celebration of their laudable work."
The Guild of Music Supervisors is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010 with the goal of preserving and promoting the critical role of the music supervisor within all forms of media.
The organization also holds numerous educational and networking events throughout the year, including the annual State of Music in Media Conference, currently set for September 2018 on the USC campus.
