- Billboard is listing different resources for those that work in music.  They will be updating their list as resources come in. 

L.A. Wildfire Relief: Organizations Providing Assistance for Music Industry Workers (Updating)

 

- Entertainment Community Fund Emergency financial assistance from the Entertainment Community Fund is open to “eligible performing arts and entertainment professionals” who are “in times of unexpected critical need.” It can help with “basic living expenses” including health care and housing. 

- Motion Picture & Television Fund - Offers counseling service, supportive services, and community resources, and financial assistance to industry members and their families during times of need.

- MusiCares is offering aid to the music community. If not in LA or not impacted you an also donate to their cause to help others:

 

- Sweet Relief is offering assistance to those “At least 3 years where more than 50% of your income came from employment in the music industry or as a musician, and currently negatively impacted by a natural disaster”

- Backline - 1:1 support to find mental health and wellness resources tailored to your specific needs. After a brief phone call Case Managers create care plans, including referrals to vetted providers. Must receive 50% or more income derived from music (venues, writing, touring, live event production) within the last two years. Spouses, partners, and children of qualifying individuals are also eligible for Backline's services.

- The Inevitable Foundation, a non-profit working to close the disability representation gap in the entertainment industry, has re-opened their Emergency Relief Fund to directly support disabled creatives impacted by the crisis. This includes destroyed homes, unforeseen evacuation costs, negative health impacts, and lost employment as a result of the ongoing fires.

Guitar Center is offering instrument replacement assistance for musicians who lost gear due to the Los Angeles fires. Link to submit request and learn more.

- The Dramatists Guild Foundation

Crisis Relief Grants are available to composers, lyricists, playwrights and librettists who have evacuated or experienced loss in the fires. These grants can be used for anything from rental costs to insurance payments to medical needs. See here for more

- Arts for LA: “To local artists and leaders of our local cultural institutions: if you have been impacted, please contact us so that we will know the impact this crisis is having on our local arts ecosystem and so that Arts for LA can be a connector to others that can help”.

- Seahorse Sound Studios

This Downtown Los Angeles studio space is offering to store gear and equipment for evacuated musicians across the city.

GOVERNMENT RESOURCES AND ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING DISASTER RELIEF AND ASSISTANCE

- FEMA Info:

Residents and business owners who have sustained losses in Los Angeles County can ALREADY begin applying for assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov , or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA App.

This relief includes: displacement assistance for up to 14 days to help cover hotel costs for those forced to evacuate, $770 for essential items, and larger direct grants to cover essential costs, medical bills, cars, and more. Small Business Administration low-interest loans are available for impacted small business owners.

- Disaster Distress Helpline:

- Planet Fitness:

“Planet Fitness is opening its door to residents, first responders and others affected by the wildfires raging across Los Angeles County. The fitness chain is providing people free access to locker rooms, showers, HydroMassage loungers, electrical outlets and Wi-Fi. The offer is valid until Jan. 15 at Planet Fitness locations across Los Angeles County that haven’t been impacted by the wildfires.”

- AirBnB:

To support residents who have been displaced from their homes or forced to evacuate by the wildfires, Airbnb.org is working with 211 LA, which serves Los Angeles County, to offer free, temporary housing.

- Lyft:

“Evacuees can redeem free rides with the following promo codes”

 

LYFT Info for Ride Credit - Riders in need can use the code CAFIRERELIEF25, valid for 2 rides up to $25 each ($50 total) for 2,000 riders from now until 1/15 at 11:59 p.m. 

 

- Uber:

Uber Info for Ride Credit - “up to $40 by applying the promo code “WILDFIRE25” in the Wallet section of their Uber app before requesting a ride to a designated shelter location.”

- Metro: Fees have been suspended however check for updates on change of service

UTILITIES

- AT&T:

The telecommunications company announced it is offering wildfire areas unlimited data, talk and text through Feb. 6. Visit their official site for a list of valid zip codes.

 

- Verizon:

Verizon announced it will waive call, text and data charges for customers in hardest hit areas. The company also deployed free Wifi and charging stations at three wildfire shelters.

Sesame Street Workshop to Prepare For Emergencies: Explore free, bilingual resources that families can use to prepare for emergencies, recover from the unexpected, and soothe children even on scary, tough days.

PET CARE

- Bath N’ Buns Mobile Pet Grooming:

The locally-owned pet grooming service announced it will offer complimentary bath services for cats and dogs affected by the fires.

 

- Vetster:

The veterinary telehealth platform Vetster said it will be offering free telehealth appointments to pets impacted by the fires. Pet owners can visit vetster.com/support to get a free appointment. Offer will be available for up to 500 pet owners until Jan. 23.

 

- LA Animal Services:

In need of assistance from those who have experience with large animals? They are currently housing 400 horses that have fled the fires.
